Roger Whalley Ltd has fitted over a hundred QUICKSTOPs in some apartments in Liverpool's Wood Street.

The main contractor Barnfield Construction Ltd converted an old warehouse into 43 new loft-style apartments. In order to comply with fire regulations, plumbing contractor Roger Whalley Ltd was required to install fire protection on all PVC-U pipework passing between floors.

"We decided to try the QUICKSTOP coupling as an alternative to traditional fire collars as we knew there would be a lot required," comments Roger Whalley. "They were so much quicker and easier to fit - zero hassle and no messing about with screwing a collar into place - particularly important where we were working at height. QUICKSTOP also looks a lot neater and requires no work in making good once it is fitted."
