Aliaxis celebrating 15 years!
This month we are celebrating our parent company, Aliaxis' 15th birthday. To mark the occasion the UK sites organised a 500-mile virtual bike ride, with the aim to cycle around all sites from Uddingston in Scotland to Lenham in Kent.
With exercise bikes ready at all 5 sites, we set off on Monday 11th June. With an OK start we had completed 81 miles on the first day, however we needed to pick up the pace to be able to reach our overall target.
On day two and we managed to get ahead of our daily target with 187 miles completed in one day and a total of 268 miles completed in total. This boosted our confidence, so we kept the enthusiasm going and went on to see how far we could pedal.
As the week went on more people from across the business got involved from pickers in the warehouse to the Leadership team and even our MD managed to do 15 miles.
By Friday morning we had cycled over 800 miles and our new aim was to do a round trip from Uddingston to Lenham and back, via the other sites (1,000 miles in total). We are pleased to say we completed this just in time with 1016 miles cycled in total. This was a great team effort from people across all brands, which included; Durapipe, GPS, Hunter Plastics, Marley Alutec, Marley Modular System, Marley Plumbing & Drainage, Multikwik and Philmac.
