AN EYE TO THE FUTURE
After
nearly fifty years of successful and growing business, 2005 is a big
year for Hunter Plastics. Working with the London Development Agency,
we have announced ambitious plans to completely revamp and re-develop
our operations at Nathan Way in South East London.
The plans, which include a brand new assembly and injection moulding
facility, will enable us to grow further our already expanding market
share in the UK PVC rainwater, soil and waste and underground drainage
markets. This year has already seen the company undergo a stylish
new transformation, in the form of a new, 21st century corporate ID.
NEW PLANS SPELL BRIGHT FUTURE
We are now looking forward to some exciting times ahead this year
as we put the final touches to impressive redevelopments of our South
East London base.
Hunter has been in production at Nathan Way in Woolwich for nearly
fifty years. But with a growing business and increasing market share
in all of its sectors in the UK building industry, the facilities
are simply becoming too tight a squeeze. So development of a new production
facility is underway with space for more moulding machines, an extended
extruding hall, expanded order picking facilities and even some room
for future growth built-in.
The new injection moulding and product assembly facilities will do
more than simply increase Hunter's production capacity. It will entirely
change the way we work, vastly improving productivity, capacity and
efficiency.
2005 has already been a successful year for Hunter with many new customers
coming on board and expanding markets at home and abroad. And all
of the benefits of the new facility will accrue in the form of further
improvements to our award-winning customer service offering.
NEW
LOOK FOR A COMPANY GOING PLACES
The new Hunter Plastics corporate ID, which was unveiled earlier this
year, has now started to make its presence felt in our offices, vehicles
and factory.
The catalyst for change was the development of our operations in Nathan
Way. This gave us the opportunity to refresh our whole image and give
Hunter and its products a brand image that better suits its current
status.
The smart new logos and colour scheme will be rolling out throughout
the year - from our fleet of delivery vehicles and corporate work
wear to literature and point of sale material at our customers' branches.
HUNTER PEOPLE HOLD THE KEY
Development of the new plant is great, but Hunter's success over recent
years has not been built on machinery or premises but on the people
which are at the heart of the company.
Training and development forms a critical part of our continued growth
and progress, giving our people training in the latest techniques,
skills and tools to move forward into the future. Hunter has enjoyed
'Investor in People' status for almost ten years, evidence of our
commitment to quality and continual improvement.
The Hunter management team strongly believes that this investment
in people is vital if a service culture is to permeate every level
of the organisation. Every member of the team has to care about getting
it right, first time, every time.
NEW PRODUCTS FOCUS ON THE FUTURE
Never one to rest on its laurels, we've always had an active policy
of new product innovation and introduction.
Surefit. Sure Thing!
Launched
in 1994, the Surefit system makes the installation of guttering quicker,
easier and safer than ever before.
The system was conceived - like all Hunter products - to make life
simpler for installers on site and the system has been a huge success
- popular with installers in the UK and beyond.
Plumbers Bits - the Plumbers' Choice
Hunter
Plastics launched Plumbers Bits in 1997 as the UK's most complete
range of high quality, value-for-money traps, WC connectors and accessories
which has since become established as the plumbers' favourite range.
The range has constantly expanded since its inception and a significant
expansion of the Plumbers Bits range is planned in the near future.
Grease is the word....
Reacting
quickly and positively to changing market circumstances is something
of a Hunter forte. The development of the Endura grease interceptor
is one such example.
When the Building Regulations changed to require the installation
of effective grease management systems in commercial hot food premises,
we launched the Endura grease interceptor system, a cost-effective
and highly efficient range as well as easy to store, transport and
install. We have recently introduced a larger 3.2 litre Endura unit
which will see the system's market share grow further. |
