Investors In People
Our Human Resources Team, along with the Health and Safety Team and Occupational Health Team, provide a thorough induction process for all new employees. We also issue Health and Safety handbooks which are designed to help our employees settle into the company through outlining our structure and objectives, facilities, amenities and benefits, employment policy framework, terms and conditions of employment and expected codes of conduct.
We encourage the success and progression of all our people, and look to provide new skills to help on our existing reputation and move the business forward.
It is our employees who will ensure that our success is sustainable, through their involvement, supporting each other and being flexible and responsive to the demands of our customers and the marketplace.
We hope our HR service earns the appreciation and loyalty of the people who matter most to us - our employees.
Silver Status

Not content with the Investors in People status that it has held for eleven years, Hunter Plastics has upped the ante by achieving Investors in People Profile status, marking it out as a leader in the sector. The company achieved exceptional levels of achievements in many categories, once again proving its commitment to quality and improvement, and attaining Silver Status in additional recognition of its outstanding performance.
The company was assessed in 192 criteria across the business and benchmarked against other companies in many different sectors. Hunter demonstrated "a culture of continuous improvement which was clearly understood by all" to the assessors. MD Brian Blanchard believes the award is more than a certificate to hang on the wall. "This is not just a badge, it is about having a true people culture throughout the business," he commented at the awards ceremony. "We were delighted that the IIP assessors recognised that everybody here takes a pride in what they do and that continuous improvement is an integral part of the Hunter culture."
Sue Payne, Head of Operations People Development at Fujitsu Services, an IIP Champion company, presented Hunter with their Silver Profile award. "She commented. "It is a cliché to say that people are important. But the fact that it is a cliché doesn't make it untrue," she comments. "People are a company's greatest asset and it is important that companies keep challenging themselves with regards to how they manage their people. Hunter should be proud of this achievement and I hope that the company will continue to strive to improve."
Investors in People Profile uses a far wider range of assessment criteria than are contained in the IIP Standard and is structured around ten indicators of good practice. It benchmarks an organisation against other leading companies of all sizes and sectors. The results are designed to show an organisation where it is performing well and highlights areas for improvement for future focus.
Hunter Plastics is absolutely committed to offering its customers the very highest levels of customer service with numerous awards every year - including the BMN Excellence Award 2008 - testifying to its success. The company manufactures one of the UK's widest ranges of plastic plumbing, drainage and rainwater products to the highest quality standards.
