125 on Student accommodation, Nottingham University

Hunter Plastics' Surefit 125 PVC rainwater system passed all the tests with J Wright Roofing of Nottingham who needed an efficient rainwater system for a large development of student accommodation. The large roof area demanded greater capacity than a standard domestic system, but a bulky commercial system would not have been appropriate aesthetically.

Director Jason Wright chose Hunter's Surefit 125 for its looks and performance, combining a pleasing slim-line semi-elliptical profile with a flow capacity of up to 4.83 litres per second. He was also impressed with the system's easy-fit features, which save time and money on site.

125 Harebell Hill in Cobham, Surrey

Charteridge Developments built the £3million home in the exclusive Oxshott estate to the highest specifications. The property covers 8500 square feet and has 5 bedrooms, plus a separate au pair or granny annexe. The size of the property made a high capacity rainwater system a must while the style and quality of the development demanded an aesthetically pleasing profile.

The 125 system was installed by plumbing contractors BJ Keenan, Barry Keenan explains: "This is a top-of-the-market development with properties selling at very high prices so there can be no compromise on either looks or performance. We always use Hunter rainwater systems because they are simply so reliable there are never any call-backs."

125 at Stagsden Golf Club

Surefit 125's slim-line semi-elliptical profile inVan Dyke Brown is was selected for Bedfordshire Golf Club its shape and colour made it unobtrusive against the red brick of the clubhouse, while its impressive flow capacity ensures that even heavy rain is efficiently carried away from the building.

Installed by design and build contractor Flaxbourne (Falford) Ltd. Their managing director Geoff Barratt comments: "This is a very upmarket club and quality is important in every detail. The clubhouse is a good-sized building with a correspondingly large roof so we needed an efficient rainwater system. But at the same time we wanted a system that would complement the building visually. Hunter's Surefit 125 works well on both counts."

125 Ikely Yorkshire

Surefit 125 has been installed on a large Victorian property in an exposed position in Ilkely, West Yorkshire.

The property - originally a Vicarage - is on the edge of Ilkely Moor and subject to heavy rain and high winds, with the property's four-storey tower especially vulnerable. The original cast-iron guttering had worn through and in replacing it, roofing contractors Swanston & Swanston of Burley in Wharfedale needed a system with a higher capacity than standard domestic systems. It was also important that the profile should be sympathetic to the style of the property.

Managing Director David Swanston comments: "Hunter's Surefit 125 has the capacity to deal with the large amount volumes of water from the roof and the tower and is proving to be very efficient. Its appearance is also in keeping with the period of the property - from the ground you wouldn't know that it isn't the original rainwater system.."

125 on Community Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne

In order to meet both aesthetic and practical requirements, Hunter's Regency rainwater system was considered the most appropriate option. Regency's 125mm profile will be able to cope easily with the high rainwater flows anticipated from the Centre's 12000m² roof. All guttering, downpipes and fittings were specified in Van Dyke Brown to complement the architect's design, and blend with the surrounding environment.

This claim is borne out by Mark Walmsley, Installation Manager of CPL Heating and Plumbing, the installer appointed by main contractor Niwell Construction. "The Regency system was ready for us to install. It all went up very quickly and easily, and we had no problems," he said.

125 on Oswestry BC refit

Oswestry Borough Council used Hunter 125 to replace the original cast-iron guttering on twenty-three sixties-built houses. The system's installer-friendly features made it a hit with the project's contractors who fitted the system in record time.

The system was installed by Jones Brothers Weston Rhyn Ltd of Oswestry. Their buyer Chris Jones says "This is the first time we have used Surefit 125 on a council project and it has proved itself in terms of performance, cost and appearance. The system is also exceptionally easy to fit which saves time and therefore money."
