Red Lorry Yellow Lorry
March 2009

Who would of thought that the arrival of our new lorries would be so exciting? I was sitting in the office last week when two of our new lorries pulled up outside, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Marketing Department move so fast! According to the BBC there are two lorries for every mile of road in this country and I’m excited to announce our new lorries are joining them!
I bet you are wondering why we are so excited? Well let me tell you...
1. The new fleet comes in all shapes and sizes! My personal favourite is the 18 tonne draw bar lorries - or as I like to call them ‘bendy buses' - (our stores and distribution manager will hate me for calling them that - Hehe!)
2. The entire fleet has an air management system. An unnamed source told me that there is a little elf under the wind deflector powering the air management - for some reason I think they are pulling my leg! The lorries really are more aerodynamic though. Its down to the shape of the lorries and the wind deflector, no little elf after all!
3. I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that there are nice comfy beds for long journeys! I must admit I'm slightly jealous, I would love to roll out of bed and not have to travel to work - it would be great, I'd get longer in bed!
4. Our lorries are the greenest ‘greyest' lorries by far! They all use AdBlue® which helps the environment by reducing the number of harmful emissions created by diesel engines. I've been told its something to do with mixing distilled water with the emissions, I don't know the ins and outs, all I know is we are now Euro5 compliant!
5. And last but not least they are nice and new and shiny!! I bet you'll agree when your next order arrives!
To sum it up the new fleet look amazing and they are more environmentally friendly too! What more could we ask for?
On that positive note, I mentioned the Red Nose Day cake sale in my last blog and I'm sure you are all wondering if I got my walnut cake! I'm pleased to say that I did and enjoyed every last bit. The even better news is £120 was raised for Comic Relief - All I can say is great job ladies and gents and bring on the next one!
