A bright note
February 2012

During 2011 Hunter raised a large amount of money for our chosen charity Breast Cancer awareness. Everybody in our organisation and customers who got involved in fund-raising all got behind this great charity and their “Wear it pink” campaign.
I am very pleased to say that we have decided to retain the same charity for 2012, and our first donation in 2012 is being paid this week following some local activity to raise funds.
I hope to report in future blogs how we have are progressing in uniting behind this great cause.
The snow over last weekend has come as a bit of a shock following what has been a very mild winter so far. I made the decision to travel to North Yorkshire to celebrate a 50th birthday with a friend from my "Leicester days". I thought I was a bit mad to travel, but I have to say a combination of driving a Land Rover and some very efficient road clearing and gritting made the journey back hassle free. We are all quick to moan when things go wrong, but in this case hats off to the highways agency and local authorities for giving a great service on Saturday and Sunday.
Let's all now hope for a quick thaw so that the construction industry keep building and of course buying lots of plastic pipes and fittings!
On a bright note, I have just written to one of my colleagues Roger Jackson to congratulate him on 30 years of sterling service with Hunter Plastics. In an era when moving employers is the norm it is gratifying that we have people like Roger, very loyal and supportive to the business and performing with great energy, and enjoying what they do.
