Nearly 200 years of combined experience!

Over the past four months since my last blog update so much has happened, not just at Hunter but in the wide world of politics, sport and unfortunately we have had a number of natural disasters which focus the mind on how lucky we are to live in a reasonably stable country. Long may that continue?

With everything around ever changing it has been a pleasure this week to reward something which is long term and which brings continuity and customer focus to Hunter.

I presented 15 of the Hunter team with 10 year long service awards. All departments were represented, from Internal sales to Stores and Good inwards, plus Marketing, Export despatch and our Commercial support team.

I have more long service awards to make to sales force members later in the year.

Nearly 200 years of combined experience cannot be appreciated enough.

I usually get the chance to have a 15 - 30 minute meeting with everybody who revives an award and it is amazing how many of the team say they only came to Hunter expecting to stay for a short period and then got to like the way we work, how we put customers first in our business and how we are all committed to helping each other. I also get some frank feedback on how we can improve further which is always appreciated.

One of our suppliers, with whom we have an excellent working relationship which extends to working beyond the point of supply in t working with our customers said recently " Everybody I have had dealings with at Hunter has a can do attitude, they never say that's not my job or put up obstacles"

That comment makes me very proud and goes some way to explaining why we celebrate long service with our loyal and top quality team members.
